There was a pause when I answered the phone like all spam calls because it is connecting you to someone with a computer somewhere else in the world. I used to be a telemarketer. Lasted 3 weeks. Anyways, the man than stated like a rehearsed script, which in telemarketing you have a script on your screen to read while talking on the phone to the customer. The man started like this : " My name is Mike Davis, with the Fireman EMS Safety Services, yep it's that time a year again. And we are collecting donations in forms of " I hung up.
First of all if he was calling on behalf of the Firefighters I would think the caller ID would NOT just read Aberdeen. Im not sure if the phone number would be any different as far as area codes (443) vs. An (800) number, but wouldn't the Caller ID read the charity name/abreviation, the dialer is calling you from ?
I don't want anyone getting taking advantage of,it makes me upset. It hurts me more, that, these phonie dialers are collecting making it look easy for others. Their making an easy buck on every else's hard earned bucks. It's just not right. Yet, continues. I'd love to advocate for the stop of this and be involved.
I would be happy to file this information elsewhere but this was the only place I could find a place to record details about the conversation.
