I received the same call. A man left a message on 3/7 at 9:45am. He was very hard to understand, sounded like he was in a warehouse. His name is James something and claimed he worked with the US Treasury and was trying to "help me" before legal actions were taken against me.

Scammers. Phoned repeatedly. This person could really take advantage of someone who is easily influenced.

I simply called them back and told them I was the AG for DC ... wow did that get under their skin

Person with an South African sounding accent called at about 1:53 pm PST and left a message as another caller described, it was difficult to hear him and sounded as if he was sitting in a large empty room (echoing). I couldn't understand his name, but he said he needed me to call back and go before the magistrate, etc. threats of legal action by the US Treasury. He never said my name or asked for an individual in the message. Total scam/phishing message. Naturally, I ignored.

It was a recorded message telling me that I had a federal action against me and I needed to show up before a magistrate. His name was James and this is the number he left. British-inflected accent.

Yes. Threatening call.

They just called and sounded very foreign and somewhat threatening. I only remember the first name of the caller and his name was James. They were looking for my wife and hung up when i asked them for details.
