He gave me another phone number (201-239-7175) to confirm his name and badge number and asked me to do not close the phone because time is sensitive.

Caller claimed to be an IRS agent, gave a badge number and case number. He also claimed I owed $3000 for an audit of taxes from 2008-2012. He said I needed to settle or they would freeze everything. The line disconnected when he attempted a transfer to his supervisor.
