My dad, 91, received a call saying that his niece had been in an accident and arrested for DUI in Patterson, New Jersey. She needed bond money of $1795.00. His niece got on the phone and my dad was CERTAIN that she was in trouble. He was told how to send money via the local Wal-Mart; and that if he withdrew money from the bank in the morning and would send it, they would release her tonight.....she could get her personal belongings in the morning when the money arrived. Fortunately, my mom called me and told me. I told her it was a scam and (1) checked on my cousin (2) did phone number reversal. They left a phone number....440-682-0108....supposedly, the courthouse. However, a reversal phone search showed the number is a landline number in Cleveland, OH. SCAMMERS SHOULD BE PROSECUTED SEVERELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They called and told me that my granddaughter was arrested in NY and that she had stitches and the girl on the line that I spoke with was suppose to have been my granddaughter asking me to send her $1500.00 because she didn't want to have to stay there in jail for 3 weeks. Obviously it was not my granddaughter but still this was a very disturbing call. I hate people that prey on the elderly. I truly believe in karma and I hate to see what karma will bring this individuals.

This just happened to my grandmother. Someone by the name of Dere Dupree called her stating that I was in jail for DUI. I hope they arrest these people (whoever they are). They are scamming elderly people out of their money

Someone called portraying me to my grandmother, saying I had been pulled over with a friend for drunk driving, got arrested, needed $1800, and was too embarrassed to call my own parents. Thankfully she recognized my voice and knew this was a scam!

"Stacy" said my friend's grandson was in an accident and needed bond money. She provided a case number but never provided any specific names, only made general references. THIS IS A SCAM!
