In addition, I did a search of numerous databases to see what I could find. From what I found these people are running Student Loan scams, legal scams threatening legal action if not paid off, money transfer scams and many others. They usually refuse to identify themselves in any way but occasionally will give an obviously fake company name. One person said they identified themselves as thr American Cash Awards Company. Another name that was given was Academic Advisors. This is what makes me think that these people are the perpetrators of many of the scams that are going around. I got a scam call from 319-774-6046. The name Academic Advisors came up in a number of reports that I found. I believe that we are looking at one group of people using spoofed numbers. As to my experience, I use CallControl and have iy set to Don't Disturb 24/7. That way the only thing a number that isn't blocked and Spammers /scammers usually won't leave a message. Such was the case with these people. Anyone not in my white list is sent straight to VM.
