card member services ( an offer to lower credit card interest rates)when asked to identify themselves, they get verbally nasty and then hang up. They call 2-4 times a week.This is a obvious attempt to get your credit card number in a attempt to commit fraud.

If I didn't auto forward my calls to Google Voice, I would ask the person "oh, can I get your main number in case we get disconnected and I need to call back to resume?"

That way I could track the actual company with their real number. this has worked in the past, with very few of them catching on.
