They called me and asked for my SSN. I told them that I have no bussiness with them but they still call.
My dad just received a phone call from a Dave Williams....the guy said he was an attorney and that my dad had a lawsuit against him. He then asked my dad to verify the last four digist of this SSN. My dad told him "I'm not going to give you that information, send me a letter if you need anything". The guy (with a very thick accent) stated that he was already mailed a letter however my dad has not responded oto it. My dad asked what address did you send it to. He replied an address in Englewood, Colorado. My dad said I don't live there....and hung up.
BIG SCAM!
A man with a strong accent called my parents and then my home number and said something like he was from Division of Law and Crime and that I had to call back. The accent and connection was so bad it was hard to hear. I'm sure this was a scam.
I received a call from Pasco, ca iaround the afternoon of 02/22/2011 and left a message that they are calling from Law & Investigation office and that there is a lawsuit againt me from Washington Mutual for a credit card that I optained in 1999. And being that I failed to answered any correspondence or calls a lawsuit is being set against me and that will be in my record as a criminal charge. She said I needed to pay rightaway the balance of $560.03 or else charges will be made against me and I would have to pay around $4,000.00 this including court fee and attorney fee. She asked me if I had a layer if not they would assign one or if I pay today. I said I could not pay right away if I could pay in two payment and they accepted. I was so nervous that I gave them my debit card information. They said to call tomorrow so that they can debit my card, because I told them that I do not have any money till tomorrow. But the something got fishy that I decided to investigate this number and to my surprise I found all these peiple with the same call. What should I do now.

Cancel your debit card right now.
Afternoon call received on voicemail. Female caller left the following voicemail: "Hi, uh, this message is for (household member first name), (household member's first/last name). This is Amber and I'm calling from the Department of Law & Investigation.... (pause) I'm calling you in regards to a very serious issue as we do have a case file in which you have been listed as a primary suspect. But unfortunately, due to your voice messaging system where I cannot relay any confidential information. So for the same, you need to reciprocate me an urgent callback [at the phone number listed above]. Thank you."
Based upon the extended pause, the assumption is that the female was either reading a prepared message or was being prompted by a second party. The female did have an African continent-based accent (Kenya?, Nigeria?).

Hi I got a call like yours what do you do if you gave them information of you debit card. And do I just disregard this call. What didt you do.
