I received a call today saying it was my final notice and that I was being sued by the IRS. This call has got to be a scam. I'm going to call the real IRS and let them know that someone is impersonating them.

Caller was so difficult to understand that I asked to speak to someone less difficult, next guy came on and was just as bad if not worse. He claimed to be "officer Jerry Smith badge ID # 4248" claiming I was about to be arrested by the county sheriff. When I asked him to repeat himself he sniped "do not interrupt me" at which point I stated "you are a liar and a thief" and hung up. I then alerted our local police department

Again, a call being sued by the IRS. This must be a crime, do not call back. The IRS would NEVER contact you by phone if you were being sued. How can these people continue to operate. I am going to file a complaint with the IRS, hope it will shut them down.

I got a missed call from this number on my cell and a voicemail was left. An automated female voice said I am being sued by the IRS. I called back immediately three times, but received a busy tone. I then Googled the number and found this forum. So glad that it's a scam and I'm not being sued!

This number called me seven times in a row over and over, whether I dismissed the number or just didn't answer it!

I got a call this morning, the caller claimed to be the IRS and that I was being sued. Luckily I googled the number first before calling back and giving out any information!

I got this call this morning. This is a felony under federal law, it would appear (I'm not a lawyer). The word "or" below suggests to me that the perpetrator doesn't have to demand money to make it a crime. Impersonating an IRS agent ("acting as such") is a crime by itself, it seems.

18 U.S. Code § 912 - Officer or employee of the United States

Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department, agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such pretended character demands or obtains any money, paper, document, or thing of value, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
