My call today 11 may same nbr but different ploy. Car warranty about to expire trying to sell me new warranty. Told them car gone as I was blind and didn't drive. She hung up.
called me 2 times today as Frank Jefferson. Same scam as others that i have 5 fraud allegations from the IRS against me. I looked up the number which they are spoofing to actually make it look like the valid IRS number. After googling a little, i came across this article from the IRS warning

you can report this information here :

He said his name was Lyon Jeffries. I could barely make out his name. I had to use my voice recognition software to clean up the audio. He said the IRS Tax Audit Dept. was filing criminal charges against me for FIVE warrants associated my name and SSN, neither of which he could provide. Instead, papers would be filed tomorrow in Criminal Court.
Thank you so much for this site. I got this call and called them back and received the same message from a Vaughn Smith. I could hardly understand anything he said but I had him repeat it several times. He said a legal petition against my name and SS# for tax fraud was going to be issued, that I should hire a criminal attorney because an arrest warrant would be issued. I called a lawyer and he told me it was a scam and to google the phone number. Thank you again for this site. I about had a nervous breakdown.
Same situation happened to me today 10/2/14 - The caller was a Brian Schmidt and said I was being investigated for criminal tax fraud. Even said there was a warrant out for my arrest. I actually called them back - FAIL. It sounded so sketchy, that I said I was uncomfortable and hung up. I filed a complaint with the IRS @ www.tigta.gov. They had my maiden name and an old address - not sure if any other information. VERY DISTURBING.
