We received a call from this number saying we needed to hire a criminal lawyer for tax fraud we had supposedly committed, that we paps the wrong amount for our taxes for tax years 2010 thru 2011. It is totally false! In the past when we have paps the wrong amount, the IRS let us know by mail right away (not years later ) This is a scam! ! They also asked if we had ever been arrested or had a bancrupcy or foreclosure- when I asked what does that have to do with my taxes they could not answer. Plus both the "irs agent" and his "supervisor" were from India and were difficult to understand. That should have been a dead giveaway!
Have received several calls over the last week...several = dozens, they finally left a message telling me something about putting a tax lien on my "name". I should have known when they said to call "Officer James Brown" back at the number!! I have already called the police, they are on their way now. I am so sick of these #%@&S% calling!!
BEWARE PEOPLE!!! DO NOT give anyone any information over the phone. If it was really the IRS, they would send you something in your regular delivery mail, or have you sign to receive it!!!!
Caller: Officer James Brown from the IRS...Yeah...right...
Got the same call. Sad to say lots of scammer target the elderly. Always check out phone # and any other info before returning calls.
I got a call from this number from Officer James Brown from the Tax Collection Department of the IRS. I've apparently been flagged for Fraud and I need to call them back before they put a tax lien on my name. "James Brown" had a very heavy accent. The IRS knows how to contact me by mail. I won't be calling back.
Yes got the very same call I'm reporting him
