(512) 354-7637 Robo call recorded 23 September 2019 ("suspicious fraudulent activities being carried out under your Social Security number..." HA!) Phishing SCAM

A lame identity phishing attempt to steal personal information.

Robo call to inform me of "some suspicious fraudulent activities being carried out under your Social Security number..." and a warning to call them back to prevent "your SSN to get suspended and to stop any legal action" in a lame attempt to get me to speak with them so they can trick me into divulging sensitive personal information.

This call insults our intelligence on many levels, first, being poorly worded rife with grammatical errors and a poor text-to-speech recording, and their "shotgun" approach to making mass phone calls, hoping to find a few people who are ignorant enough to fall for their crude fishing scam, and their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethic, doesn't it?

Here is a transcript of their crude phishing call as I recorded it using Google Voice:

[partial recording] female automated voice: "...free number we have found some suspicious fraudulent activities being carried out under your social security number, which seems entirely illegal. Now, if you don't want your SSN to get suspended and to stop any legal action, kindly call us back on our department number 888-616-2853. I repeat 888-616-2853. Thank you. Good bye."

NOTE: try not to laugh too hard at their poor grammar. Sadly, there are people who don't realize this call is a dangerous scam and provide the scammer with their personal information.
