Just received a voicemail left from Benjamin Cooper. VERY aggressive, threatening that there's an open case against me and they need my lawyer to call back. Everything pointed to SCAM. He didn't even address me by name or give any details.

got a VM from a Benjamin Cooper from Pittman White and Associates. He said he needed to hear from me or my attorney and if not, I would be taken to court! Lols!!! These people kill me as I owe no body or payday company anything. I'm going to start calling them and say they owe me money!!!

Claimed to be an Iowa Law Firm attempting to collect debt on an unpaid payday loan. I am filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and have notified ALL of my creditors via certified mail not to contact me and gave them the contact information for the bankruptcy attorneys. These people claimed that "their client" had never been notified and refused to take the name and number of the my bankruptcy attorney. My attorney advised me that this is illegal and a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act. From what I'm reading from other people, it appears that these people are crooks who only represent themselves and seek to scare people into paying them money not owed to them. My attorney advised me simply to hang up and not accept any more calls.

I got a call from Pittman white and associates. They said they had a case against me for a same day loan sometime between 2008 and 2011. They could not tell me the name of the company I supposedly took this loan from or the date. They said the amount currently owed was $865.36 with a $500 legal fee but would settle for $500 if I would get on the line with a secure third party and then be sent to a website to pay. I requested more information and Melissa Williams said that only their lawyer had that information and that I would need to obtain a lawyer so that they could give it to my lawyer. I expressed that I would be representing myself and have the right to see my accuser. I asked them to please send me in the mail all of the legal documentation and I would address it with their lawyer myself. This flustered Melissa. I told her this sounded like a scam and she pressed a bit. I took down their information. They said they were working for Direct Cash Loans and were in Algona, Iowa. There is no Pittman white and associates or Direct Cash Loans listed in Iowa as a business. She did have my name and the last 4 of my social and an old business name that I owned. My purse was stolen in 2010 (the time frame she said my "loan" was purchased). She said that it looked like I had taken the loan and then closed an account. I had closed an account and opened another in the same bank due to the stolen purse. I have never taken a payday type loan but it was scary the amount of information she had. The number she gave was 515-200-7943 Ex. 408 Melissa Williams.

Recieved a call from Kelly Clarkson about a fraudulent check event. They wouldn't give me the amount I owed and seemed in the dark about every question I asked. I never took out a loan. They couldn't even give me the store I supposedly took the loan out from.
