Same story as above. Some Algerian sounding fuck calls with a canned message about how he's "Officer Brian Daniels" of the IRS, and a legal complaint has been filed against my identity, blah blah call me back at "this number" before we take action against you. Hahahaha. I think i'll call him and waste a few hours of his time.

Same thing happened to me. Called saying a legal complaint had been filed against me and that I owed $1000 or more in "education" taxes. I hung up when he asked for payment info. My dad called the number and accused the guy of scamming me and he said "I'll just scam someone else." He also knew the college I go to and my major. Be careful!

Got a call and was told I had a complaint and needed to file some tax for school, googled the number while on the phone and found this site. They're on the opposite coast from me, said something about DC having problems from me, didn't buy it. Thick accent, and he had a hard time hearing me.

Got a voicemail from this number pretending to be the IRS. They said there was a legal complaint "filed against [my] name and identity" and that I should call them back before they take "legal action" against me.

Lots of background noise, caller had a thick accent and was hard to understand.

This number called me this morning, I was at work and let it go to voicemail. When I listened to the voicemail, it was a guy with a heavy indian accent saying he was Kevin Anderson from the IRS or Federal Law Enforcment saying someone had made a complaint about me. I called back and the same guy answered saying the line was being recorded and to not interupt him and that I have 3 criminal charges being filed against me for tax fraud. He also knew where I went to college in 2012. I hung up on him and have not been called back at all. Sucks because it initially got me concerned because I wasnt expecting. what a bs scam!

Just got called twice, answered the second time. Guy had an accent, saying someone filed a report on me. Googled the number and saw these comments, hung up the phone and they called back twice until I blocked their number.

The guy had an accent. He said I owe a student tax that has accrued interest and fees. He knew what university I'm attending. He said because I have no criminal background he will be my mentor and guide me through this process. If I cooperate they won't arrest me but if I do they will. He also said I am not allowed to hang up. I had bad reception and the call was lost. Right after another number called me, this time with a local area code. It was the police department... I guess they impersonate the police as well. The "cop" had the same accent. I'm assuming they add the cop part to scare you into paying. On the IRS website it says the irs will never threaten to use local law enforcement to arreat you.

I called this number after my girlfriend was scared after she was called about this. I asked what kind of a scam they were pulling and the thick accented gentleman started to swear at me and ask where I was. I hung up and was immediately called back from an "emergency" number on my phone. He said "Hey mother f***er". At this point I knew it was a scam and laughed it off... still was a little nervous as I hope he doesn't continue to harass our phone lines.

COMPLETE SCAM. I was told that there are "multiple allegations" against me for the tax period of 2011 - 2014, and that a warrant was about to be placed for my arrest and that I would have to pay a penalty of $25,000, so either I could give him my lawyer's contact information or "resolve this over the phone". He kept asking me yes/no questions like "did you do these illegal things on purpose" or "do you want to resolve this outside the court", and said I could pay via EFT.

SCAM - They called me claiming to be the IRS saying someone had filed a complaint against me and I owe them money. Said that police department will send a squad car if I do not wish to cooperate. Wanted me to use Apple iTunes cards for payment. Non-English speaker, noisy background. Hang up the phone if you get a call from them!

They called claiming to be the IRS saying someone had filed a complaint against me (and owe them money) so I need to call them back right away. Non-English speaker. Really noisy background.
