I just received a call identical to what has been described by others. march 27, 2015 at 10:45AM CST. I knew it was a scam as the IRS won't operate in this manner and the message was too vague. I don't know what can be done but it might be worth calling your local television stations or newspapers and let them know a scammer is operating and contacting local numbers.

This is horrible! I knew it was a scam right away. Tried calling back using a different phone. Just keeps ringing!! Block this person RIGHT AWAY!

I got a message on my cell phone said it was the IRS and do not disregard the call and call back. FIRST OF ALL THE IRS WILL NEVER CALL!!! THEY WILL ONLY SEND LETTERS TO CORRESPOND. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS IT IS A SCAM!

She claims shes an officer of the internal recenue. That you should not put off the call. And when you call back they ask you many questions just to steal your identity
