This is a form of what is called spoofing. The caller is using a fake caller ID. The call is id'd as a business name called Boston Market. It is a fast food restaurant. However this is not the real business calling me, someone has spoofed Boston Market's number and using it as a fake caller ID. The following message was left in my voicemail from Boston Market. This is not a message that a fast food restaurant would leave in someone's voicemail regarding an expiring vehicle warranty. Why would a fast food restaurant be interested in renewing a vehicle warranty for a vehicle that I never owned?

"day(?) without a response you may lose your option to extend your cars warranty. This is a final courtesy call before your file is closed and your option is declined. Speak with a specialist now about your options. Press two to be removed and put on our do not call list press one to speak with a warranty specialist about reinstatement or extending your cars warranty. Again press one to speak with a warranty specialist."

When you get a call that has been spoofed, do not answer it, do not reply to it, because if you do reply, it is confirming to the caller that the number is active. And this would lead them to call over, and over again, they will use your area code and your exchange to call from similar numbers to yours to scam you into answering your phone. Because the likelihood that you would answer a call outside your area or from outside the country is unlikely. Again beware of spoofing, go to the government's website and you'll find all kinds of information regarding spoofing and how you can protect yourself against it.
