I received a call today saying that they were from Microsoft. I heard of this scam and I played along. They ended up hanging up on me. THIS IS A SCAM

Claim you have a virus on your computer and want access to all your computer equipment and credit card to pay them for stealing your info and destroying your computer

This person did not identify themselves. Was s woman with a reasonably strong foreign accent. Possibly Chinese. Claiming to be a computer maintenance company and that my computer is sending out critical error messages.

says calling froms windows about ur computer sending server errors and wants control of computer to show u and then tries to sell u tech support and they work on ur pc remotely for price. talk bad about ur spy ware ect. then stop you from closing ur cpmputer

Number came up on Caller ID and I allowed it to go to the answering machine, as I always do. Person didn't listen to the message and for the full minute of recording time repeatedly said, "Hello?" as though someone would magically answer.

called saying they were from Microsoft something. said they found a problem with my computer. since I don't have a service like that I stopped the call.
