I received the followup letter from the census, to fill out the ACS survey. A few weeks later I did this, online. The next day I received a call from this number. I don't know why they'd need more info, so I decided to look it up. Now I'm wondering if the letter was a scam too. I'm not calling them back.

I received a call from this number at around 7 PM Central Time claiming to be the Census Bureau ! The gave me number 888-419-7586 to call back from my voicebox and use 2272 for ID number ! Sounds fishy so I checked here first ! Glad I did ! Sick of scammers !!!!

Received a message stating they were from the US Census Bureau and requested I contact them. When I called to put in the Bureau case number they tried to sell me things.

Called twice today from the referenced number. The second time, left a message stating U.S Census Bureau and to call back number 866-208-6591 - which is also listed as a scam call. They are apparently trying to get personal information - I turned this over to the authorities.

People who can hardly speak english claim to be the US census and to call 8009705650 with a given "case ID number". I called the census and they told me they don't do this and the number is probably not theirs. Stupid bureaucracy can't even verify their own bloated phone number cloud.

Caller ID spoofing! Any number can looked up on the internet and fed into caller I'd so NO you can't verify the number. And the gov always says ' we don't call you unless you ask us to. That's how you spot a scam' So this is a scam by the gov's own definition. Don't answer the call or the questions.

This numbers calls several times a day. When I answer they do not speak. When I let it go to voice mail they leave a very long message stating they are from the census bureau needing my personal information.

census bureauthat i forgot to fill something in. I sent in paperwork not realizing i made out papers in 2010. this sounds like a scam. we are elderly and 2 of the calls were men whispering for us to call in.they talked broken english. very scary.
