The caller said that I had signed up on line to receive gift card from Visa. The guy from the Tucson area code was very rude when I told him he had no right to call me because I'm on the Do Not Call Registry. He told me that they had the right to call me because I signed up on the web - and when I told him that I didn't - he just kept talking over me. That was until I told him I would report him to the FCC if he didn't remove my number from their list. I then called the Virginia area code number and made the same demand. But I also have missed calls that are 800 numbers and "unknown" number hang ups that I assume are related. Since all the calls are identical (only the "gift" they're holding out as bait is different) - I assume it's the same SCAM. I wonder if Visa and Olive Garden are participants in this annoyance or victims as well?

I got an e-mail for 2 free southwest airline tickets. after filling out some screens, which was all my info, It said it required paticipation, so i hung up. I got a call today saying that not completed my information and if i completed it i would get the 2 tickets, a 5000.00 gift card and a chance to win 1 million. I was caught off guard being that i was at my doctors office and so in completed the requirements. They were nice and gave me their names as Trevor and Chris. I asked if i could opt out at any time and they said yes. The participation was to subscribe to magazines 30 months at 39.90 a month. Oh, and they said I was recieving and IPod soon! OMG, did i screw up??? They deducted the first payment already but i am monitoring my account very closely. I hope it's not a scam!

They called and told me I was one of the five finalist to win $1 mil and that the contest requires that I register for five magazines of my choice for 30 months at $29.90/month with a $5.95 additional fee to United Benefit Advantage. They asked me to confirm the Visa number I signed up with (which I don't remember giving at any point). I told them I did not have the card with me, so they went on to say that they take Mastercards, etc., and that they needed my SS#. Red flag! I have never entered into a sweepstakes like this, and I don't know why they would need my SS#. I researched online and found that some legitimate sweepstakes do require that you release your SS#, but I didn't know of any contest that would require me to purchase something in order to receive a prize, so I asked that my information be removed from their records. They then directed me to 1-888-299-8272 to cancel out my info, and they did! I called again the next day to make sure my info had been removed from their records, so I hope I will not receive anymore phone calls or threats of charges for a magazine subscription I did not sign up for as some others with this issue have! Also, I signed up for the DO NOT CALL Registry a week or so prior to the first call from this number--figures. I registered my number again, so my fingers are crossed.

Has called up to 6 times in one day. No message. Called number back to see what company. Would not give company name. Stated that I would be added to THEIR 'No Call' list, even though I informed them that I am on the national 'Do Not' Call' registry. This is just one number out of many. Harassment started after trying to get an unsolicited text messages (43554) to stop (yes, I know it was stupid) by replying STOP. Next day, at least five unsolicited phone calls a day. Have filed complaints with DNC registry and with phone service provider. Still happening.
