just recieved a call, automated message that asked me to press 1 to speak with an operator. I did not comply. Did not identify which card they were calling from and said that they could lower my interest rate.

This is a normal scam. It starts with a recorded message from Rachel at cardholder services. They tell you that you can reduce interest on your credit cards and try to get card information from you.
