just got the same call, his name was Peter. when he said my computer has a virus I went off on him and called him every name I could think of. He hung up before I was finished. Caller ID said it was from Toledo OH.
Called about 8:15 a.m. local time!! I didn't answer. Call went to answering machine, but no message was left. CID only showed phone # and Lakeside MAR, OH. No company name indicated.
This "Microsoft Scam" has been going on for YEARS now.
If YOU give THEM access to YOUR computer, YOU WILL have a VIRUS put on your computer by them.
This call originates in Pakistan.
They randomly pick phone numbers to Spoof the caller ID.
DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFOMATION.
If you do... Sorry, they will "RANSOM" your computer by locking YOU out of it.
Have a Great Day All...
Said his name was Adam but had a heavy middle eastern accent. He said there was a problem with my Windows computer, I told him I had no Microsoft products. He then said he hadn't said anything about Microsoft and I reminded him that Windows is Microsoft so he said my Apple Computer so I told him I wouldn't own anything Apple. I called him a terrorist and several other things, then I reminded him he was calling Texas and I could sue his company since I have told him more than 3 times to remove my number from his database so he finally hung up.
Asked what I was doing, then said my computer had issues that needed to be fixed and that they were from my internet service provider, said I should call them back. I hung up.
