I got a call from this number, and it came up as "Unknown" on my Caller ID. I first checked White Pages, which reported it as "low risk." I went ahead and called the number, and a male answered the phone, almost sounding like he was in a private home. I said I'd received a call from this number and wanted to know what it was about. He asked,"Are you calling from the number you were called at?" --That was a big red flag--informal language. I realized, after the fact, that I should not have responded, "Yes," because then he said, "Hang on." He comes back, saying, "You will need to speak to 'Matthew Johnson" about this, it's a legal matter." I asked, "What legal matter?" He said, that has to be discussed with him. I knew right then, given the Robocall "legal matter" scam, that this was a live one. I asked him to tell me MY name (does he or this supposed Matthew Johnson even KNOW whom they called??). He said he "couldn't tell me," because it was a "legal matter." TOTAL SCAM. I warned him that I knew it was a scam at that point, that I am on the Do Not Call Registry, that I was reporting their number, and I went on to block it on my phone. I hope nothing else comes of this, but these scammers are getting to be a more frequent and annoying nuisance.
