Stupidly I panicked and called them, it played a super creepy off-key song for like 10 seconds and then did the 3 beeps when someone's hung up. I called them twice (i was panicking, it was dumb.) Are they going to charge me? why else would they call if not to get money or something?

I gave this number to the local police.

They called and I called back and told them to go to hell. They told me the same thing. Do they think we are idiots

I received 2 phone calls within 5 hours today. The second call left a robo-voicemail. Here was my message: "The very second you receive this message, I need you or your retained attorney of record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time-sensitive. Thjs is a SCAM the IRS does NOT contact by phone, they contact you in writing. Iave repoirted this number to the authorities.

Some Paki or Indian threatened me with IRS arrest.

I almost fell for this scam today. they are very convincing and had people call me claiming from other agency sheiffs office and dmv the caller id was legit numbers. do not fall for this scam.

Just received a call from a person with a thick accent, the number came up from New York. Claiming that they are from the IRS and that there is an investigation with my tax refund, and there was an arrest warrant out for me. Once when I told the person that I was going to hang up and call the IRS back, the lady hung up the phone really fast. Don't fall for these scams!!!!

i got a female computer generated recording claiming to be howard johnson from the irs and i needed to immediately call back not to disregard the message

No agent identification, when I asked if this was the "Internal Revenue Service", the line was disconnected. SCAM!

Called and left a recorded message that they were from the IRS and that I needed to call them back. No explanation why. Having dealt with the IRS in the past, I can tell you that they correspond in writing first and if the do call you, it is a live person. Not a recorded message from someone with a very thick accent. SCAM
