I just received a call today saying that i owed $300 and that if i dont have a lawyer call back in 1 hour state officers would receive the paperwork and have a warrant to come arrest me. I couldnt hardly understand the guy and he said his name was Officer David Jones

I also receivd a threatening phone call from an "officer John Smith" saying I owed money for a payday loan. I've never had a payday loan. He said if I didn't cooperate, he would send an officer to arrest me. There was a language barrier and I asked to speak to a supervisor, never would allow me to speak to supervisor. He started using profanity and I terminated the call.

I received the same call today and the funny thing is I actually work in debt collections, now FDCPA guidelines concerning 3rd party debt collections are as follows you cannot threaten a person with criminal persecution, this is breaking the law and you can personally sue the collections company and the debt collector. So I get this call and when they told me that he was calling from a state investigations company and he said something about criminal charges, I cut him off and asked to speak to his supervisor i was placed on hold and then the supervisor got on the phone named Adam Sccod, i told him that i was going to seek legal representation against him and his company personally, because they are violating FDCPA guidelines and he hung up the phone.

I received the same call as "Lisa - Mar 1, 2011 09:10 AM" threatening that if I did not call back there would be serious consequences with my social security number. The man that called referred to himself as "Officer" David Jones. When I called back several times, I got a recording saying that the person you called is on the phone. I did leave a message requesting his badge # (we'll see if he is in fact an "officer") and a phone call back so we can clear up whatever issue there may be. I also received the same message at my place of employment. That is harrassment! If I need to involve a lawyer, I surely will!

I got 3 calls back to back. They have my home and phone number and read me my email address. Officer Jack Green left message that I better not avoid this call to call him or have my attorney to call or suffer serious consequences. I called back, got someone else and was abruptly told I've committed check fraud and two other crimes I couldn't make out because of the language barrier. I told him to serve me at my house cause I know I haven't committed any crimes. He threathened to hang up on me if I interrupted him again. So I hung up

I have been receiving threatening phone calls from John Smith he say I owe money for a payday loan and If I don't call back that there is nothing he can do. How do you get these phone calls to stop, I was getting them from other numbers but I ignored them. I did talk to one of them and he wanted my bank statement. I don't think so.
