Magazine subscriptions
magazines
Keeps calling 1 -2 times a day; everything I've read online about this number sounds like a scam. The only thing that is common is that I do have a subscription to Discover magazine, but it's paid, and normally a magazine would send you a bill in the mail, not call the cell phone.
They called me stating I owed Moneyfor magazine subscriptions from 2009 and they needed to collect and take legal action if I did not pay. I told them I did not owe for any and if so what magazine names. They rattled off 3 that I have never read. I told them to show where I received them and I would pay. The guys said he was filing his report and hung up. I called back and they said they had my address listed as 205 Pennsylvania Ave. I told them I did not live in theWhite House and they needed to quit calling me. They said if I called them they would file Harrassment charges. I told them to go ahead, I'd like to meet them in Court and especially outside the Court House.
Call listed as "Arizona". They called two times. First claiming they were Discover magazine, asking my father if he wanted to renew his subscription. My father thought they were legit at first, but then got angry at him when he told them he wouldn't give credit card info over the phone. We contacted Discover magazine directly and were this number had not been authorized to handle subscriptions/fees. They called again a week later with "a friendly reminder" claiming we owed on a Discover Magazine subscription and asked if I wanted to "go ahead and get a credit card for them". Fishing for credit card info. To which I promptly replied I knew they weren't authorized for this purpose and they were already told we don't do credit card info over the phone. Hung up.
