Student loan collection.
A person from this number called me on my office line, requested me, then asked me to give them my date of birth "to verify who" I am to them. WTH? I refused, told them she called me. She was very rude, demanded I give her the information and I explained to her I had a right to my privacy. She was evasive but did tell me she represented Delta Management Associates and that the call was a "personal matter" regarding "time spent at school." Wanted to make sure I understood the call was being recorded. LOL. Stated she couldn't tell me any further information on why she was harassing my on my office line until I gave her my date of birth, citing privacy laws prohibited her from attempting to verify to me she had the right person. I hung-up on her. She called back and I had my husband to answer. She stated to him she needed to proceed with paperwork for a wage garnishment on one of his employees. Problem is, we are self employed, been out of work for a year because I gave my husband a kidney to save his life, and we don't have any employees. She argued with him when he stated he didn't have any employees. The bigger problem here is, she exposed herself as the scam they are because wage garnishments go through the courts, they cannot directly just contact an employer and demand they garnish someone's paycheck. These people are frauds. A complete scam. Doesn't matter if they have a website. I can make a website overnight too and make anyone look like a legitimate company. Never give anyone any single bit of personal information. Even if you think your date of birth is harmless. They may have your SS# but lack your DOB in order to steal your identity, or vice versa.
