Caller with heavy accent told me my Windows operating system was reporting that it has malicious software running that will damage my computer. I asked what's your point? He didn't understand my question. I hung up. Sounds like a scam.

I just received a call from this number saying his name was Richard and he was from the Windows Technical Department.

I told him to take my name off of his list and he called me a BITCH. I told him that I would report him and then the line went dead.

I am sick and tired of these people and wish they would go far far away

I got a call from the above phone number today 10/4/2011. Said he was a tech from microsoft windows and I needed to call him back at 408-786-5612 ASAP and ask for Justin Brown. I did not believe him. How do I report this to someone who will actually look into this complaint. He sounded like he was from India, Pakistan. How do I find out what to do about this issue.

I just received the same call and the tech asked me press CTRL & Windows & R at the same time... I didn't this was too weird of a phone call, but I entertained it to see how far they would go and/or what information they were trying get from me, I initially thought money to fix my computer, but she hung up...

same thing happened to me. i just disconnected and didnt answer his calls. whats an idiot but i am sure he must have fooled some people thats why he has the nerve to keep calling perspective people.

Pakistani/Indian guy, phoned twice. Said he was from Microsoft WIndows and that MS were getting an 'error-message' from my computer. Asked me to go into the search box on the start-up menu and enter a search for 'run'. Then a black screen came up and he wanted me to enter the letters 'assoc ...' something or other, and I became suspicious. I ran the number he first used, 607-271-9258, and it turned out to be a laundromat in New York City, the second number 607-231-8335, turned out to be a payphone in New York City. They obviously got my number of kijiji.com, where I was advertising a room for rent in my city in Canada. Very bad Indian/Pakistani type of accent, also very insistent that 'something be done on my computer' or something bad would happen. What an idiot, phoned insistenly two or three times at 2.45 in the afternoon.

Caller: Said he was a tech from the Microsoft Windows office.

I got a call and couldn't understand a word spoken, not in English. They wanted me to downlaod a remote program to my computer. He sent me to ammyy.com and download it now as my computer is about to be compromised with a virus and they would help me solve this issue. I didn't and I have no idea how they got my name and where I live.
