This guy is a scam, don't know how he got my number or place of employment. Stop this guy now
threatened me with legal action and said that I had guaranteed a loan that someone else made. He hung up when I threatened legal action. A male who identified himself as Mark Williams with a heavy Indian accent....He could hardly pronounce the name Williams. Actually called me here at work.
I have gottena bout 5 calls from this number. Each time, it is the same person, who calls and reads me an "affidavit" about a debt I owe that is currently $5400+ and my 3 options. Option one will cost me $15k+, Option 2 $10k+, Option 3 will magically be "just a few hundred dollars" if I pay by credit or debit card. When I asked if they were licensed to practice in the State of NY, he started to argue with me. When I asked what their EIN was, he argued more. When I asked where these charges were filed so that I could appear with my attorney, he told me Binghamton, NY. Not my county, and is actually 4 hours away, They are not attorneys, they are scam artists who phished a web site and got your info. Call your bank and file a complaint with the Attorney general in your state.
"mark williams" called me saying i had legal and criminal charges brought against me for not paying a bill when i was 100% sure i paid it. Just to make sure i went to the website that i supposedly didnt pay the bill for and went to me loan history every item said "Paid Off" I also went to annualcreditreport.com and got a copy of my credit report from all 3 major agencies (experian, etc) and nothing was listed on there either. Now i would normally just keep ignoring the calls and disregard this as a scammer and block the number but the only thing that worries me is when i talked to him he read off my checking account number, email address, and the last 4 of my social. And it sounds like it was the same guy that called everyone else. Heavy indian accent claiming to be Mark Williams. Has anyone else had something to this extent where they already knew your banking info?

Oklahoma resident was contacted by someone at this number purporting to be either me (Griffin Bell, Attorney) or on behalf of my law firm in regard to a claim against resident. Caller indicated he represented the "State Federal Credit Union" and requested resident fax to her personal identification and other information. My law firm does not have any locations in New York, would never request information in this manner, does not represent the "State Federal Credit Union", assuming it exists, and any other Griffin Bell attorneys I know of are not located in New York and would not be making any calls of this nature.
