Magazine company hung up on me when I started asking quesitons.

This same thing happened to me. I had subscribed to magazines not long beofre I started receiving these calls. So, he called and said they were making sure I was receiving them on time and everything, and said he was calling to make sure my billing information was up to date. So, thinking it was the right people, I gave them everything...my name, billing address, and bank card information. It wasnt until a few months later I realized that I was being charged at 2 different times in the month..once from my real magazine comapany and once from the phonies. Then, I called them and tried to cancel. They told me I was obligated to pay them for 24 months because that is the contract I agreed to. I asked them to send me a copy of it and they said they couldn't send it to me, but they could play me a recording of it. I said, I want them to send me a copy so I could give it to my lawyer in order for him to analyze to make sure they did not fake it. They never sent it to me, but kept on harassing me. Finally, I told them I would get them for harassment and do not call me till I get a copy of the contract. They quit for about a year and just started calling me again. This time, if I call back, it says the number is not in service. UGH! In order for them to stop charging me, I had to cancel my bank card and everything. They ended up ripping me off of $600 over time. I think that they should be able to be sued somehow and everyone get their money back and stop being harassed.

You do not have to answer your telephone just because it rings. If you do not know the number simply let the call roll. If it's important the caller will leave a message. Once you answer their calls that basically gives them carte blanc to call repeatedly. Make certain that if you do not want to continue to receive their calls tell them to remove your number/name from their calling list. Also report the call (number) to the FCC for investigation. If your number(s), landline and cell, are not on the DO NOT CALL LIST, get them on it.

man called, knew my name, said he was calling to see if my magazines arrived in good condition and on time (he was unable to identify the magazines I subscribe to)

the man then said they wanted to help me lower my subscription payments to $14.95 per month. I told him I did not spend that much on magazines and he hung up.

This number calls me 5x a day saying that they send me magazine subscriptions and want to lower the amount of magazines I receive to save me money. When I tell them that I do not pay for any magazines they hangup on me just to call me back again anotherday. This is absurd and these calls need to stop.

I get this call at least 4-5 times a day. The first time I answered it no one talked and hung up at once. I tried to call back but all I git was a message " the number I was trying to reach is no longer in service " I belong on the DO NOT CALL LIST but somehow I still get these calls.

I have the same number calling me and I have been dealing with this for several months now. I started receiving Martha Stewart magazines and went to great lengths to send a letter to Marth Stewart and called the number. When I asked for a supervisor they hung up on me.

I now am receiving yet another Lifestyle magazine and I am at my wits end with this crap. I don't know who to call to stop this. I have had to block numberous numbers they call me on. I live in a complex and my mailbox is small and these books keep filling up. This is an invasion of my personal business and time consumming. I am fed up!!!!!!!!!!

They called me on my cell phone yesterday and told me they were trying to help me cut my bill down for magazine subscriptions. I tell them that I never subscribed to any magazines. They proceed to tell me I did, but couldn't tell me how or even which magazines I subscribed to. They have my name, cell phone and address. They say I'm obligated to pay $59.99 for the next 36 months and they will help me cut it to $49.99 for the next 20 months. I tell them I never subscribed and I don't want any magazines. They ask me if I've been receiving any magazines. I tell them I got a Men's Health magazine 2 days ago and was wondering how the heck I received it. At this point they transfer me to a supervisor (Jeff). He asks the same questions and tells me I've been receiving 5 magazines per month. I say, no I got 1 issue of Men's Health 2 days ago. At that point he says he will investigate and call me back. Today they called me back and I give the same story and they hang up on me. I filed a complaint on FTC.GOV. This seems like a total scam.

I talked to a supervisor one time and he said they got my number through someone listing me as a preferred customer. They had my address from when i lived at fort gordon, im assuming something i bought online sold my information. They keep saying I have a maxima subscription but I cancelled my card due to something else so they keep trying to fish my new card number out of me. They got my cell number so i just ignore the call everytime they call but its 3-4x a day

I got calls from this number (612-216-4361) at least 3 to 4 times in one day. When answer the call, no one talks back, then hang up.

I didn't answer at first. I tried to call back and the operator said the number was no longer in service. It must be a scam when you can't call the number back.

OMG!!! I think this is AL-Qaeda's secret weapon to destroying the US. They probably think that if we continue to receive calls from this number that we will eventually self destruct.. I hate these callers!!! I get calls daily from them. It was only last week after I received a couple of magazines from SHAPE that I started investigating. Back in late Sept. 2010 I received a phone call from an actor named Kris Jenkins, of Central Renewal Service, 5290 Summerlin Commons Way, Ft. Myers, Fl. 33907, 888-299-8272, congratulating on my magazine subscription. Low and behold I lit into him and told him I was not interested and I better not receive any magazines. He kept insisting that I ordered them, I reassured him I didn't and that I better not get charged for any of them. He made mentioned of my credit card for which he said he only had the last 4 digits. I told him that any charges on that card for which I was canceling would be considered fraud and that I would pursue him for criminal charges. He assured me I wouldn't receive anything. Then last week I received two mags; oct & nov issues. I was pisted. I called SHAPE and inquired as to the source of where this order was originated and that I wanted this subscription stopped immediately. They told me the company name: Agora Natl Publishers Exchange, 8285 Bryan Dairy Rd, Ste 150, Largo, Fl. 33777, 800-890-8180. I contacted them and they gave me additional information leading me to Direct Clearing , 18531 Egret Way, Farmington, MN 55024, 866-494-1010, for which you will never get through, because a recording will come on and tell you to call during business hours for which you can call all day and no-one will ever answer. I get calls from this number several times a week. When they answer they give me the line about having trouble getting my magazines and I tell them I don't get any and when they don't hang up I ask them to remove me from their call list and they get angry.
