Wrong number, asked for someone I don't know stating it was a federal notice and if I wasn't that person hang up.
Sounds like a scam in line with other comments.

Sylvia Holt called my number looking for my 84 year old father. She said the matter would escalate quickly if he or his legal representative did not call back today. I recognized the name, Sylvia Holt, from another scam site.

This company is Direct Recovery Services. A financial debt collector. They attempt to scare consumers by stating they are calling on behalf of the Federal Government or representing the Federal Government which is a lie!

It is also illegal and punishable by lie to misrepresent yourself as an agent of the Federal Government. Be sure you inform them of this when they contact you as well. Also do not settle any debts over the phone, request that they send you written notice in the mail so that you can review and verify whether or not the debt is accurate and valid before you are willing to discuss the matter in detail or provide any identifying information.

Also do NOT verify your social, DOB, or mailing address. If they have the right to collect the debt they should already have this information available. When you confirm they update the records so there is a chance that they could have the wrong person but now with the information you've given they assign the debt to you!

Pay your bills, but exercise due diligence so that you are not paying the bills of someone else or being scammed.!
