This call is from a scammer claiming to be the "Electric Company". The robocall voice says "it's calling about the electric company's overcharge..." It does not even give an electric company's name. An electric company will NEVER make cold calls like this. If this were a legitimate circumstance, a consumer would be notified by mail from a real electric company!

It has been reported on the media this scam is being perpetrated in the Ohio area with the criminals impersonating the gas or electric companies. A live person comes on if you hold the line and works on the call recipient to get their personal and billing information from them and off one's bill.

NEVER give this information out or call these criminals back! This is not your electric company regardless which company you use.
