DO NOT PAY THIS person. It is a BOGUS caller that is trying to extort money from you with fear tactics.
Record their phone conversation and send it to your attorney general's office. This extortionist needs to be stopped.

Multiple calls from BMI telling me that I have to have a license to play music and that I need to address this now! I am a small business and I do not play music for entertainment, live or recorded. The company told me when I called them back that they could not take me off of their call list because they had to come out and verify that I am not playing music. Didn't know they were regulators and they are not, but are trying to scare me into buying a license- bad tactics- I have filed a complaint with BBB- please pass this along as I know they have been doing this to other wineries in the area.

This number is harassing the business owner of a small gym for music fees. The gym has 1 small TV for the members to watch & the only music played in the gym is from members' own ipods or MP3 players, usually with earphones. I checked online with the SBA (Small Business Administration). The business is not in violation & does not owe any music fees. Our advice is to report them to your State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs for extortion.
