I asked the salesperson to be removed from their phone list, was told that wasn't possible. When I said I was recording the call, I was literally told he was Mark Johnson from Afghanistan and he would come bomb my house.
Ive found a good method for handling these type calls. When the call comes in - or when given the option to press 1 to speak with an operator, I do so.
When a person answers I immediately start yelling - eff you, eff you, eff you....until the person hangs up. I dont try to be nice and politely ask them to not call.
This seems to work as #1 Ive wasted their time. #2 Ive made them the victim instead of me. #3 This is degrading, demoralizing & demotivating for the person.
called. I answered which put me on an in hold que. Person on otherside picked up after about a minute and spoke broken english.
He said it was because of my capital one/chase account. and I could save money on all Visa/MC cards I have. I asked him how he got my number and he hung up.
