Identified themselves as Police and Sheriff's Association, asking for donation commitment for local police, but 618 area code is NOT local to me, so I was suspect. They said they were sending a letter with details, and i said i would wait for the letter, and hung up on them.

I just received a call from them. Sounds like a total scam trying to make money off the recent police shooting incidents. Nope.

received a call from an Illinois number 618-936-4217 from the Police and Sheriff Association, after telling them i was waiting for my credit card to come in the mail they told me that was fine and they was just making sure of my commitment and would send a letter with a pre addressed envelope to send back to them. I asked where they were calling from and they told me Reno NV.

They just called me and when I kept repeating"what's your location?", he was silent. I then told him he was a scammer and hung up.

Asked for donation. Requested they mail me donation card. Fellow was rude and told me I HAD to donate over the phone. Requested my credit card. I declined, then he hung up on me.
