Portfolio was taken to court in New York and Kansas and was fined $82M in punitive damages for Malicious Intent (see The Kansas City Star newspaper) New York also filed suit against Portfolio and forced them to stop pursuing $19M is collections. Google their phone number 620-860-1787 and read the entire story.
Did not speak to caller but I do know they are trying to collect on a bill that is over 10yrs old .
