It's Portfolio recovery disguising itself with a fake caller ID

Collection scam

Male called, had a heavy foreign accent, hard to understand. Told me I owe a lot of money to some business I never heard of. Also said police will be at my door if I don't give him credit card numbers, debit card and my Social Security Number.

Just called but left no message. Portfolio Recovery is a huge evil scam that buys up unrecoverable debt and then tries to recovery from anyone. Biz partner from over 10 years ago hit hard times and even though I've not talked to him in ten plus years, these robo collectors are trying to track him down even though he went bankrupt. I left the relationship before all this went down and have repeatedly told all these collectors that but they still continually try. Don't talk to them or they will mark you as if they now have a business with you and can continue to harass you. Just block them even though they have tons of numbers.
