Spoofing is when they "trick" your caller id to display any number they want, in this case their callback voicemail where they expect you to leave your number (bad idea). Since their calling number is spoofed, you will not be able to block this number, ie Verizon fios phone block, since this is not the actual originating number. What to do now? The Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009, which was signed into law Dec. 22, 2010, prohibits caller ID spoofing for the purposes of defrauding or otherwise causing harm.
