Clean up virus on computer

The caller was informing me that I had downloaded malware on my computer. I suspect this was a phishing expedition.
Just received a suspicious call from an “Indian-accented” gentleman by the name of James Rich who said he is from the IT department for PC Wizards. He asked me if I knew that every time I went on the Internet that I was getting corrupt files without knowing it. I of course said no. He said go to your computer and….I stopped him right there and said I wasn’t near my computer and he seemed surprised. I then asked for his name, phone number, department, and name of company so I can call him when I got to my computer.
The phone number he verbally gave me was 1-888-463-7406 which is DIFFERENT than my caller ID number which reads “Missouri Call 1-636-978-8206”
It sounded very suspicious.

They call everyday but I don't answer n I try calling but it said disconnected

insisted on gaining information about our computers and was trying to "speed up" our browser. There have been a few complaints through google about this person. When passing phone to son, they hung up quickly.
