Received a call from this number threatening me with arrest for outstanding taxes. Said they were coming today. Said they were from the treasury dept. This is a scam. Told them I was calling local police and they hung up.

I didn't call back....thanks for the input! I figured I would check first....

Just received a call from 646-517-4770. The caller ID said New York, NY, but the number isn't even close to the Treasury department's phone number in New York City. I received a phone call similar to this a few months ago (not the same number) from a man with an accent claiming to be from the Treasury department!

They called 3/16/16- a badly recorded woman's voice, but sounding very official, said a tax fraud claim had been filed against us & we must call 646-517-4770 before we were arrested

Yes they called me. I called back (from work phone) and wanted to know who they were. The gentlemen had a accent, told me his name was James Williams. I asked him what company he was with and he said IRS. He wanted me to tell him who I was and I told him you called my home. He then told me to "fuck off." And then he hung up.
