Daniel Williams claiming to be from Advance America.net, offering loans of $2,000 to $10,000 for 10% interest with payments as low as $100 per month. In order for this to happen, he gave 2 options 1- Purchase Federal Insurance at $150 that would boost your credit score 5 points for every payment you make and protect you if you can't make your loan payment. Option 2- Enroll in credit repair service where they deposit $1200 in your bank account and you send it right back to them, then they can fund the $10,000 loan as you have shown you can pay the loan. With this they requested my online banking user name and password.
Something felt wrong about this and I voiced my concerns about a scam, and asked for their license number. He got very defensive and said if I didn't want to proceed then I could use someone else. So I hung up. I went to AdvanceAmerica.net the website he told me to go to and I called their Contact Us 1-800 number and spoke to a representative I explained what happen she said that was a scam that their company only does payday and installment loans and in my state of TX the amount they are allowed to lend is only $1,000. BE AWARE of the SCAM. He did get my routing and account number from me and therefore I will be watching my account closely but I didn't agree or sign anything so hopefully I will get lucky.

Offering long term installment loan of $2000-$10,000 for 10% interest but you had to allow them to deposit $1200 in your account and give them online banking user id and password to have the money sent right back to them. Then they would send you the loan amount you requested. Or you could pay them $150 for "insurance"

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (NEWS RELEASE) -- The Kentucky State Police would like the make the public aware of an ongoing scam defrauding individuals by using a Kentucky State Police phone number.

Campbellsburg Post 5 has been made aware of a telephone scam in which the caller claims to be from Advance America, phone number 646-583-2929, requesting money in reference to a loan. The scam progresses to an individual calling the same victim claiming to be from the IRS and asking for more money. The victim then receives a call from 502-532-6363 from an individual claiming to be a Kentucky State Trooper and threatening legal action if more money is not paid.

The victim of this scam stated all individuals who called spoke with a foreign accent. The State Police wants everyone to know no calls requesting money, particularly those dealing with warrants or legal action, would come from the Kentucky State Police. If anyone receives a call resembling this, they are advised to hang up and call their local Post to validate any claims made over the phone.
