I received the same SCAM phone message: "My name is Jason Clark and the hotline to my division is 646-650-3032....don't disregard this message, return the call. now! if you don't, and I don't hear from your attorney either, the only thing I can do is wish you Good Luck as this situation unfolds on you....Goodbye, and best of Luck."
I spoke with the New York Attorney General's Office about this, which directed me to Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Response Center at (877)382-4357. I filed a complain with them. This puts the phone number on record. BUT THEY DO NOT INVESTIGATE AS A RESULT OF A SINGLE COMPLAINT--THEY NEED A DOZEN OR SO OF YOU WHO HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME CALL TO CALL THE FTC AT THE NUMBER ABOVE, AND THEN THEY WILL PUT HIM OUT OF ACTION. Please do your duty as a citizen to prevent this type of fraud against the elderly and others who may fall for this, and report it to the FTC.
yeah its bullshit scam
I've gotten this same type of scam call in the past, hadn't had one in awhile but they started up again yesterday. Called yesterday and left a voicemail, a man named "Jason Clark" with Heavy accent, a fake tough guy attitude, tried to sound threatening the the voicemail claiming if he didn't hear from me or my attorney that he "wishes me best of luck as the situation unfolds" but never once states the matter of the phone call. Funny thing is I got the same voicemail this morning (same voice and practically identical message) from a different number (347) 342-0307 except the man claimed his name was "Jason Smith". Don't waste your time answering the call or listening to voicemails for this number (or the other number I mention in this post), SCAM SCAM SCAM!
OMG.......I received a voice message on Wednesday from a (646) 650-3032 with the same message which I initially deleted because I thought it was so outrageous. When I received the second call today it alarmed me so I called. I first spoke to someone by the name of Christina then a Daniel and finally Steven Knott who claimed to be the Head Prosecuting Attorney. I was told the client was US Credit Agency and they were filing the law suit on their behalf. I was told I didn't pay back an unsecured debt from 5 years ago. They had my prior address, last (4) of my SSN# and company's email address. However, a part of me just kept pressing Mr. Knott until he began raising his voice then told me I was a criminal and they have all the evidence against me. I stated if this was the case and if you say I'll get court papers then why are you wasting your time? He responded it's the law that your attorney be served a copy of the papers and that's why I was being called. I pressed more indicating I did a Google search and the FBI has warned against Extortion Scams Related to Delinquent Payday Loans. That just made him even more upset. He said after I'm found guilty in court I'll have to pay $5,484 dollars. I could go on and go regarding this call, but I think I've said enough. After the call I decided to do a Google search under the telephone number which led me to this site. So glad I discover it.
Says to call his division or something bad will happen to me.
