I received a call from (314) 615-4724, which is a genuine St Louis County Sheriff's Office. The guy on the other end identified himself as Officer Lee Chandler with Badge ID# 4927. He informed there is some pending charges against me and I need to call Officer: Thomas O'Brien at 646-658-3162. I called to find out what pending charges were... never had anything before. Upon calling the guy identified himself as Officer: Thomas O'Brien and that there was a charge against me for defrauding IRS to the tune of $4750. He goes on to tell that there will be a lien against my house and the wages will be garnished and I will be arrested. Of course he did list a slew of charges. He asked me, how I would like to settle it now. I asked him to send a notice in the regular mail and his response I will have to issue arrest warrant. By now I knew this was fraud and Hung up.

Person called claiming to be from the Passaic NJ Sherrifs Department. Phone number they called from was indeed the Passaic County Sheriff's Dept Main number. He had a heavy foreign (Indian) accent, calling to inform me that Passaic County Officer James O'Conner – Badge #5829 had filed a complaint against me regarding an outstanding tax matter and I needed to call Shawn woods at the Dept of tax crime for the IRS at 646 658 3162, referencing case number Cd8642.

I told this guy "how do I know its not a scam" at which time he said "You'll see it not a scam when I send officers to arrest you. I'm issuing an arrest warrant today". And immediately hung up.

I called the Passaic County Sheriffts Department and spoke to someone in the Fraud Dept. They said this was new a one to them and thanked me for alerting them to this scam. Also, they are not aware of any Officer James O'Conner with Badge Number 5829.

Got a voicemail today. It was a recorded female voice that said,
"We have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS -- Internal Revenue Services. The reason that this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 646-658-3162. I repeat 646-658-3162. Thank you."

I did not call the number.

I got an automated phone call from the "IRS" saying they were going to sue me unless i called them and fixed my problem with them. How gullible do they think people are!!!

I got a call this morning and said its Steven White from IRS. Yes he had an Indian accent but trying to show that he is an American. He asked me to pay $4000+ or at court I have to pay $72000... I havent received any paperwork and said I cant give my credit card or anything. He said, he will ask the local police to come and arrest me... Seems like a fraud call

Got a phone from 7311514370001477 asking me to call IRS at 646 658 3162. Who should I report this, police?

OMG.. what a joke.. a guy with a HEAVY Indian accent named "officer Stephen" with the IRS wanting to talk to my husband about our tax return. Yeah right.. do people not know that the IRS will send you paperwork etc.. When I laughed in the guys face he said I am sending police now.. and rattled off my address. I just hope he knows the police station is right next to me. How crazy. People will do anything to SCAM people.
