Scam - Man posing as IRS employee trying to collect personal information

Called me saying there was a warrant for my arrest over a "Student tax"

Man with a middle eastern accent called me on May 4 around 9 AM Pacific Time saying he was with the IRS and I had not filed my "Form 61" and that a warrant was out for my arrest, and that I had to make a decision immediately if I wanted to "resolve the fines now" or not (and have legal action taken against me -- i.e., getting arrested and going to court and likely paying more in legal fees than just paying the fine). He said I owed $947 and would not let me hang up the phone without giving him an answer for what I wanted to do. He proposed that to resolve the fine I would have to keep him with me on the phone as I went to an ATM or to my bank to withdraw the money in CASH ONLY and then take it to a Safeway or Albertson's to send it in an electronic money order following the instructions he was going to give me over the phone. While on the phone he also managed to have "911" call my phone twice (as an attempt to scare me and think the cops were coming to "arrest me"). I finally hung up on him, but he immediately called me back within a few seconds from a second phone number from Cambridge, MA and he scolded me for hanging up on him. I told him I knew this was a scam and that I would turn him in, and he immediately hung up.

This is an illegal scam. A woman with an Indian accent transferred me to "her supervisor", a man with an Indian accent. I said I have paid my taxes and this is an illegal call. He got worked up and hung up on me.

This guy called me 3 times today. After the 2nd call I sent it to voice mail and quickly got another call back so I thought it might be important. A guy with an accent (I thought he might be a Latino but looking at the other comments I can see how some might think Indian) stated that he was officer Scott Anderson with the IRS and that someone had filed a complaint against me. When he stated that he was with the IRS it was an instant red flag as they warn you against this when you file your taxes. I proceeded to listen and he said that he would have to transfer me to his manager. I told him I had to go and he very angrily stated, "I just wanted to let you know that there is a warrant for your arrest and that you will be arrested within the next 20 minutes!" and then he hung up. I started writing this just before a meeting and now it's been a few hours. I don't understand how these losers get my phone number.

Same story as the above--"IRS" saying there is a warrant out for me for an unpaid debt. They also called from (617) 714-0762
Cambridge, MA. Somehow they knew where I went to school, but looking back on it, they may have figured that out based on my area code, and that I mentioned I was busy heading to school. Told them to callback later, and they never did. They called on 4/27/15.

I was just called and there was a message left by this number. I called back and asked the "officer" about the fraud being alleged and he mentioned an amount of $728 that was not filed using form 61. When I asked for a supervisor, I was transferred to a man who sounded almost the same. When I asked for some sort of confirmation that this was not fraud, such as a badge number, he rattled off a number, but then got very flustered when I asked for information about how to confirm that this was not a scam.

Received voicemail saying it was the IRS and something about an investigation. Because of his strong accent I could not understand what he was saying and he hung up on me.

I got the same call today at my work number. Person with the strong indian accent by the name Steven Jones said there was a federal complaint against my name. He then asked if I have been contacted by the local authorities. I was then transferred to his superior by name Alan Wolton. Supervisor with the same accent told me I have to pay $2,461.00 to stop further actions against me and I have to decide right now, I have only 15 min for that. He stated that another IRS officer will come to my house to collect payment in the form of the money order tomorrow. As I told him I will verify his identity and requested to send me this complaint by mail he hung up swearing

They called, I rejected the call because I didn't recognize the number and they IMMEDIATELY called me back and left a message that said something about a complaint against me, I need to pay, and identity theft. Absolutely a scam

Just received a call from this number with the same message as above. Second time this week someone in my household has been contacted by phone scammers. First was a local number, but same scam, and today was an out of state #.

Two men with heavy accents (Pakistani?) called and threatened to have me arrested for not filing "Form 61." They were highly organized and tried to make it sound like they were in an office with protocols etc. Got flustered when I asked them to tell me what date I filed my taxes on!

I was called today at 12:03 pm. Voice mail was left indicating that he (Middle Eastern accent) was with the IRS and a legal complaint had been filed against me. That I needed to call him back before legal action was taken against me.

A man claiming to be "Officer Scott Anderson" left a message claiming there were complaints filed against me with the IRS and FBI. Except I'm a student who didn't make any money this year. Was very fake and suspicious.

This caller called me at on 4/21/2015 at 4:15 pm and said there was a federal complaint against my name. He then asked if I have been contacted by the local authorities. I was then transferred to his superior. I asked the second man How do I know if you are actually the IRS? I was then hung up on. Thinking I accidentally pressed end, I called the number back and the first man answered again saying you had reached the IRS. I said I had received a call from this number, at which he hung up the phone.
