Caller (sounded Indian/Pakistani calling from a loud call center) said he was ALEX WILSON from Microsoft Tech Support saying I had Malware and he wanted me to go to my computer to resolve the issue. Clearly, it was a scam - he provided his employee ID# and then the two phone numbers as the "help line" #646-810-6454 and -6453...which i could call back to fix the problem. He proceeded to provide me with my computer's "license ID#" to authenticated that he knew my computer and it was a serious virus which had been downloaded. I hung up.

He did have my windows product key and read it off to me and said that was his proof that he was from Microsoft. I told him I wanted more proof and he threatened to block use of my computer.

A male with an Indian accent said his name is Simon Jones at 646-810-6453. He said he was following up for Microsoft and works for Windows CC Care. He said he was following up on errors and warnings my computer was issuing. He asked if I have a router in place. I asked what the errors and warnings are and he ignored my question. He called multiple times...I kept hanging up. First time the caller id displayed my own phone number. Second and third times displayed Not Available 001696.

I received a call today from a man claiming to be with Microsoft and there were infections that Microsoft is monitoring and contacting their customers about. This sounded suspicious immediately but I didn't give him remote access, so I went along with the call for a few minutes. After looking at files that I understand which confirmed he was lying, this guy named Charlie wanted remote access. I refused and asked for a phone number to call him back at. He gave me 2 numbers: 646-810-6453 and 866-529-8803 with an extension numbeer 456.
I did a Google search which validated my suspicions and didn't bother to call Charlie back. He has an Indian accent and the man who originated the call for him has such a thick Indian accent I couldn't understand anything he said.
