They left a voicemail - claiming to be from Google (about my Adwords). The information he had was extremely generic, and with a thick Indian accent left the following email address: somnathbh@google.com.
Might or might not be legit. Google hasn't called me with this in 15 years; so I am inclided to be very suspicious.
So damn tired of these POS. I don't answer Out of Area, Unknown Call, Private Call, Toll Free Call but made the mistake of answering and the POS hung up. If this is POS Google, then say something when you call dimwit, nitwit, moron, stupid, nincompoops. Call blocked so the POS can keep calling and have their stupid call disconnected after the 1st ring. Google is another stupid company that promises but fails to deliver anything !!!!
This really is from Google Ads... Or a support and call center which Google contracts with that is based in India.
A client of mine received an email to improve their ad words campaign which I was handling... The email looked suspicious so I called Google…(866) 2GOOGLE to verify that there really was a guy named Ashwin E, and that this was not some scam call... they had verified this was legit, So I had responded to the email to set up a call to improve upon the Google Ads campaign...
Ashwin had called me from the same number in question (650) 215-5111 which my cell phone app called ROBOKILLER had repeatedly blocked... Since I was expecting a call and didn’t hear from him until he emailed me, I called the number listed on his email signature…
(855) 204-7240
He told me about his experience being blocked by RoboKiller — The call was an hour and 20 minutes, to which we went over keywords, changing the bid strategy from enhance CPC to maximize conversions, as well as increasing and decreasing bids amongst Desktop, Mobile and Tablet.
Since it was such a productive call, I had asked him to call me back…
To which he replied yes, and kindly asked me to unblock his number for future calls.
I gave a long reply because the call was a long and productive one… If anybody is on the fence whether this is a scam, call Google’s numbers directly.
This is fraud. They call and interrupt my day numerous times. Sometimes hanging up and calling back. I work with Google everyday. I can assure everyone, this is NOT Google. This is not how they conduct business. Don't answer/talk to this company.
I receive real calls from real Google AdWords account reps. They don't ask you to join Hangout. They call, and walk you through their newest features, looking at your account on their end while you're looking at it on your end. The calls are helpful, but at no time do they ask for info or access to your PC or account. They don't need it. Real Google never asks for information because they have more information on you than you do. Google knows everything about you. If you opt to have them call another time, they'll email you a Google Appointment at the email address on the account. Never give a fake Google rep any info. Real Google doesn't need it nor do they ask for it. I've often asked Real Google reps to tell me my account number and they can easily.
