My mother received the same call as many have also reported. The caller said he was her grandson, arrested in the Dominican Republic and needed money to get out of jail. He gave her the correct name of her oldest grandson and asked how she was getting around. She believed it was indeed her grandson and thought that he knew she had surgery on her leg last year since he asked how she was getting around. Thank God my mom had the presence of mind to call me before she paid these thieves. My mother received the same type of call about 2 years ago and now she has been scammed again. Please, please warn your elderly family and friends about these evil crooks! Please, please let your elderly family and friends know that these terrible people can find out their name, age and relative's names on numerous websites...without spending a penny! These crooks should be found out and penalized severely for taking advantage of and upsetting our older friends and family.
