Got a call from this number yesterday claiming to be from IRS, but a recorded message. National do not call registry failed to block it. Tried calling it back and naturally it was BS scanner call.

The IRS sends letters on first contact. Always.

Caller states name is Heather Gray from the Internal Revenue Service. Sounds like a prerecorded message. That this was a time sensitive issue. To call the number 661-885-3879. Don't disregard this message before we take action. Goodbye and take care. Most definitely this is a scam. I have had some like this before. It is the "take care" that really gives it away for me. This was left on my voice mail.

I got the same message from above, but it was quite apparent to me, it was someone with a foreign accent, trying to impersonate the voice of an English accent. It sort of sounded like they had taped their voice, then slowed it down to sound more English. Sort of like the character of Kevin did in the Movie " Home Alone 2." He taped his voice, then slowed it down to sound like an adult voice, so he could order room service.

The taped speech should have said, like the person stated above "I am officer Heather Grey from the Internal Revenue Service. Do not disregard this message. Return my call before we take further action against you."

The voice was really slowed down, and the speech I heard was missing words that if it had been really from someone with the Internal Revenue Service, would have been added, and one word pronounced correctly.

The below message is what I heard.

"I am officer Heather Grey from Internal Revenue Service. Do not disregard this message. Return my call before we take further action againt you."

If this was really from someone with the IRS, the word (the) would have been added in front of Internal Revenue Service, and the word against would not have been pronounced against you, and not againt you.

Left a message on my phone "I am officer Heather Grey from the Internal Revenue Service. Do not disregard this message. Return my call before we take further action against you." I am a CPA and deal with IRS quite often. So I called the number. All IRS agents answer the phone with their name and ID #. This person did not. I asked for their ID # and my response was "Fuck off" and they hung up. I called back to let them know I was reporting them to the IRS and my response was "you bitch". Even though IRS agents can be very rude I've never heard them use that language before. Not very good impersonators!
