I had the same experience. Ms.Williams stated she was "signing off" on an account in which she claims i owe 1600 dollars too. She couldn't provide me with any detailed information. Very rude, called several times a day. I also got calls from Sam or Pam Cook from the same company. Watch out, this is a scam
Yes they called me also and called my job
To the best of my knowledge, the individual (Mrs. Williams) who called me identified herself as a representative of ABS and that she needed to speak to my spouse regarding a legal matter. When I told her that she was not home and told her not to call back, she indicated that she would call back. I immediately blocked her calls. She did, in fact, call back several times. When she was not able to get through to my house number, she proceeded to call my wife's place of employment....leaving messages that "Mrs. Williams called from Legal Services and that it was urgent that she speak with my wife.
I checked the number on the internet and it revealed that this number and this person was a scam, trying to collect on non-existent debts. The individual is creating a problem for my wife by calling her at her place of employment. She is a school teacher and is not permitted to accept phone calls at work. She will probably continue to call and harass my wife at her place of employment.
MS Williams left a VM for stating I had 2 checks that were bad, and kept repeating it was a recorded line and I was being notified. My parents somehow also received a call from the same lady, and she had their FULL names. Incredible. Beware. I will be calling it back tomorrow, as it is East Coast, and giving it (if they actually answer) and giving them a piece of my mind. Who writes checks anymore? I'll report again with my findings.

Update: I did try to call this number back early, due to it being on the east coast. Ms. Williams answered, and said she wanted to pull up my file. Without consent or anything, she transferred me to a "Bradwell" who just starting talking so fast I could not understand what she was saying. I asked her to slow down and what company she was representing and what her full name was. She refused, and hung up on me. I called back, and "Bradwell started yelling at me, and then hung up. I actually called back again, and Ms. Williams told me to stop playing with myself, and that she would file a harassment charge with Bexar county, and to go play with my mother. My mother actually called me stating these same people called her again stating they would be filing a harassment charge. I will be blocking this number and calling the Bexar county DA myself.
Be warned. Not a professional outfit at all.

Wow - -these people need to get a fresh call list. I just received yet another call - -this time for a non existent pay-day loan. As much as I did not want to do it, I may have to get rid of my 408 number...I had programmed their phone in my phone from last time they called me, so I knew it was them, and I answered "Hi Ms Williams, take me off your call list" She stated once I showed her a receipt of my (non existent) I would be taken off. I texted my parents to ignore her calls as I'm sure she will be harassing them next.
This is a total scam. Ms Williams called and left quite an unprofessional voicemail about check fraud that my brother committed (which he didn't). She said I was a reference that he provided. Block this number and don't confirm any information! Report to IL Attorney General or make a consumer complaint.
