I paid off my student loans in or before 1997 and my husband never had any student loans but this number keeps calling me with this message: “I am Amanda from Federal Student Loan Assistance Center. I’m calling because you have approximately 90 days before payments pick back up. This includes wage garnishment and tax offset. Give us a call so we can go ahead and get you set up in the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program through the Department of Education. It is income based and we can definitely get you set up in this as soon as possible. The number is (817) 345-0891.” They will never answer at the number they stated as being a call back number. I also doubt they are associated with the federal government.
