He called me with the same greeting, I thought it was my friend from vegas who I am visiting tomorrow. I said "Hey (friend), I didn't recognize your number!" He is "Sorry" and hung up.

Called said his name was John was with Police and Fireman's association
I said hi he paused seemed fishy I hung up had a feeling it was a scam blocked the number.

After a pause (like when it's a robo call) the man said, "Hi my name is John and I am calling from the Nevada police and fire station." I just hung up. Knew it was a scam. He never called back.

I just received a call from 702-984-4602 asking for $100 donation to the police officers in my area. I told them I don't make donations over the phone then he tried to get me to commit to a dollar amount and they would mail me a receipt. I told him he is interrupting my watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the NBA Western Conference Finals and wanted to politely decline. When he continued to ask what the minimum amount I would commit to, I hung up.

6:00 pm. - I just received a call from the same number. When I asked why they were calling me, they instantly became silent. I posed the question three times. They remained silent. When I tried to call them back, it doesn't go through.

Yes I was called.
I was asked for a contribution for the police officers in my area.
They asked me for my name and address.
I called metro in my area & I was told it was a scam.
The person said Metro never calls people over the phone to ask for
conributions.
