Called 3 days after I tried to redeem 1,000 Best Buy Gift Card. "Associate" asked for my age, type of job I had, and marital status. He also asked what type of credit card I used most often (Visa, Master Card, American Express, etc.). He put me on hold, then hung up.

Called the day following my purchase of online tickets for six flags Discovery Kingdom. Caller knew my name and that I had registered four tickets for an amusement park. Caller stated that he was an "account executive", but would not tell me what he wanted or the name of his company. During the call he asked someone in the background named "Jamal" for a cigarette. The information collected by six flags for online ticket purchase was, obviously, sold to this telemarketer. How slimy!

The caller said that I had signed up on line to receive gift card from Visa. The guy from the Tucson area code was very rude when I told him he had no right to call me because I'm on the Do Not Call Registry. He told me that they had the right to call me because I signed up on the web - and when I told him that I didn't - he just kept talking over me. That was until I told him I would report him to the FCC if he didn't remove my number from their list. I then called the Virginia area code number and made the same demand. But I also have missed calls that are 800 numbers and "unknown" number hang ups that I assume are related. Since all the calls are identical (only the "gift" they're holding out as bait is different) - I assume it's the same SCAM. I wonder if Visa and Olive Garden are participants in this annoyance or victims as well?
